Jessica Rowe speaks with Sambag

Sambag chatted with journalist, author and co-host Jessica Rowe, about how having a busy schedule doesn’t mean compromising on your wardrobe.

Why did you start in your industry?
I always wanted to be a journalist and I feel very happy with where I am in my life now, both personally and professionally. My very first job out of university was a receptionist for the Wide World of Sports on Channel Nine. I was shocking - I couldn’t work the phone system and often hung up on my bosses. However, it was a start, and it’s essential to start at the bottom and work your way up.
What’s the most important moment in your life to date?
The birth dates of my two daughters, Allegra and Giselle. The day I married Peter, the day I left home and moved interstate, the day I headed overseas for a month and stayed for a year, the day I patted a panda
The moment in your life were you were the happiest?
Right now - doing Studio 10 on the Ten Network. At last I have a job where I know I can be myself, and I am relishing the chance to use my brain cells again after drowning in sandpits and being controlled by crying routines. It’s the first time I’ve been back at full time work in 7 years. It is wonderful to feel like me again!
What advice would you give your sixteen year old self?
Your acne will clear up and you will eventually be asked out on a date.
Define your style…
Quirky, classic with an edge and lashings of leopard on top!
Who is your style influencer?
Audrey Hepburn and Anna Dello Russo
Item you’ll never part with?
My Collette Dinnigan wedding dress
What is your favourite piece from the Sambag Autumn Winter collection and how would you wear it?
Do I have to just have one favourite piece!? Sambag has been a part of my wardrobe since the talented Sam Wagner began her label in Australia. This season I want a pair of ballet flats in every colour, and I am coveting the leather top.
