On Thursday 30 March 2017, the year six students, were given the opportunity to experience an afternoon basketball session with two of the reigning NBL champions, Jesse Wagstaff and Angus Brandt.
This opportunity was gifted by Hawaiian, owner and manager of Claremont Quarter as thanks for the school’s participation in the Hawaiian Giving Box drive last year, collecting 130kg’s of much needed items for Hawaiian’s charity partners, Foodbank and Anglicare WA.
Students experienced a 50-minute session coached by both players that focused on skill development and teamwork, including the popular game of dog and bone. The session then wrapped up with a 10-minute Q+A session where players were able to answer student’s eager questions as well as receive giveaway merchandise signed by players.
The Skills Clinic with the Perth Wildcats allowed students the opportunity to enjoy a private basketball session with reigning NBL champions!
