The Quarter Stylist Corey Chandler talks through the latest SS20 trends and what you can find at Claremont Quarter this season.

50 Shades of Pink

Pink may be a polarising colour to some, but I’m sure we can find a shade to suit everybody at every age. Be bold in fluro or be bashful in blush, just be sure to add pink to your summer wardrobe. Country Road has a lovely selection of pinks instore now, but this linen flounce dress is an easy dress to take you from backyard BBQ’s to sunset cocktails.

A chic update on a shirt, Scanlan Theodore’s palest pink silk shirt will be perfect with white palazzo pants or light washed denim jeans. Go bold in Seed’s magenta silk skirt & team it with a simple white tee.

Cut it Out

A hint of skin is all you need and this season it is a sneaky cut out. The Scanlan Theodore sky blue cotton shirt dress is given a 2020 twist with the waist cut outs. Get voluminous in Aje’s bubble sleeve dress. And we can not go past this classic staple from Zimmermann The Amelie scarf tie dress, which will be a go to dress for many summers to come.

Comfy But Make it Chic

Leisure wear has had a good work out this year, and some might be happy to never see or wear a tracksuit again. So, it is time to step it up and but still keep comfort the priority.

A loose elastic waisted jogger pant is the perfect starting point.  Team it back with a fitted asymmetric tank or an oversized shirt, the new chunky sandal and you will feel perfectly chic yet comfy. Loving these pants from Country Road, Camilla & Marc and Morrison.

The New Denim Skirt

The denim skirt is back, but make sure you keep it to the knee. It’s the must have wardrobe staple to suit all ages and shapes. Mix it up with heels or sneakers, linen shirts or tanks and it will quickly become your favourite “go to” summer piece.

The Country Road denim skirt with front split, Camila & Marc denim pencil midi skirt and Seed A line denim skirt are just a few faves.

Natural Linen

You can not do an Australian summer without linen. It’s perfect for our long hot days and nights. But this season be sure to head for the natural tones of sand, beige and stone.

You will be able to find a piece to fit in your summer wardrobe, from the wide leg trousers by Aje. Morrison has the perfect linen top and Witchery’s linen dress has the sweetest balloon sleeve detail.

The Chunky Sandal

Embrace this chunky sandal trend as it can be worn with everything. From tracksuits to jeans to floaty linen dresses. These sandals will bring your favourite summer frock, you have had in the wardrobe for years and give it a new lease on 2020 life.

Gold Accents

Your accessories this summer are simple. Go gold. A chunky choker worn with your classic white tee and jeans, you will find the perfect chocker at Scanlan Theodore. Don’t forget a simple earring can make the perfect statement. Country Road’s double hoops will lift your summer look. Or a clean gold cuff will be the perfect finishing touch as you walk out the door in the thick fold cuff from Aje.

Be Bold

Take a chance on colour. The white linen shirt will always have its place but try and add a brightly coloured shirt to your summer wardrobe this year. You can find a bright strawberry pink at MJ Bale, the perfect shade of emerald at Country Road and sky blue at Trenery. Don’t be shy, you will be surprised how easy these colours are to wear.
