Our Quarter Stylist, Corey Chandler, talks us through the must have Father’s Day gifts for 2024, to make this year’s shopping stress free.
And here we are again, with Father’s Day just around the corner on Sunday 1st September. How fast this year has gone! If you are a planner and getting a gift early or leaving it to the day before, don’t worry I have you covered. I have checked out the must have gifts from all over Claremont Quarter to make this year’s shopping stress free.
Do you have a fashionable dad in your life you would like to celebrate? Then your 1st stop should be Kailis and ask for the Accord bracket range. A selection of beaded bracelets featuring Black Onyx, Turquoise, Lapis Lazuli and gold or silver. A colour to suit everyone or stack them up for a bit of fun. They are a great piece to wear day to night and were inspired by the harmony of nature. Now head over to the new RM Williams store and find the Mulyungarie fleece sweatshirt. Perfect for casual weekends and layering, it is their best-selling sweater in French cotton terry, featuring a zip neck opening with a branded suede puller.
But which colour will you choose, grey marle or French navy? And I think I found the perfect jacket to layer over said sweater, it’s from Peter Jackson. The Brunico Classic brown suede Jacket. I love this forever piece, and it has a limited run nationwide, which gives it an exclusive edge. Crafted from soft suede, it is in a classic denim jacket shape with a collar, button front and slide side pockets. Dad will be wearing this season after season, and suede only gets better with age. And head to Hype DC to check out the amazing range of sneakers, in particular the Adidas Originals Gazelle. I love the colour combo black, scarlet and blue. I can see these becoming a go to sneaker, and would go back with denim, chinos and look great as the weather starts to warm up. The Gazelles are a no brainer, and the pop of colour is really fun for dad.
We all know those dads who are full laughs, has a joke at the ready and up for some fun, so lets get them something to match this big personality. I can’t go past a cute PJ set from Peter Alexander. The Best Dad Ever tee and matching shorts are fun and he will definitely feel like the best dad wearing these. A classic round neck grey marl tee, with the green and blue “best dad ever” across the chest will keep dad comfy around the house and looking cool. As the weather warms up Im starting to think of the days at the beach, so head to Camilla and check out the bold range of board shorts. There are too many amazing prints to choose from, but if I had to pick one, it is the Call Me In Cairo print. It features an endless oasis of luscious palms and pyramids, plus a camel crossing the dessert. Bold boardies for that fun loving dad this summer is a must. And of course dad always needs a new shirt, and this one from Saba is lively and eye catching. The Ryan short sleeve shirt is a navy base with an all over tropical orchid print in subtle shades of white, rust and greens. It is in a soft cotton , in a classic fit. You will see dad in this all summer long.
What about the serious suit dads, who spend their days in the office? Well maybe they need a little something to remind them of you. And what better way than with a watch from Boss. The Mesh Bracelet Chronograph watch with blue detail, is a contemporary pilot inspired watch. Featuring a blue dial, gold markers, and secured with the silver mesh bracelet this piece is perfect to wear day to day. It is modern, chic, and it will look perfect with his suit collection. I love picking out ties, and the selection at MJ Bale is always vast. Try the Robello Tie, made from 100% silk in Italy, it is an understated navy paisley print. A little fun, but still classic and will go back with white, blue or navy shirts. And speaking of shirts, head to Country Road and find the Regular Fit Textured Check travel shirt. These travel shirts are made using a yarn dyed cotton with a crease-resistant finish, perfect for dads who have to travel or those not too keen on ironing. For a pop of colour, I like the soft pink and white check, which will look great with a mid-grey blazer.
Sometimes dads can be hard to buy for, but what if the dad in your life has everything already? Why not upgrade a few items for him. Over at Rodd and Gunn, find their selection of accessories. The Wakefield Bi-Fold wallet comes in three colours chocolate, cognac or black. I love the RFID protection feature to keep your data secure. Its slim line design reduces bulk, and it’s made from Italian leather and has a luxurious feel that will age beautifully. Now at Academy Brand the Varsity Crew Tee comes in several colours and is the perfect classic tee. In a robust mid weight cotton, this tee is built to last. The oversized shape, with a slight drop shoulder, dad will look cool in his new selection of tees for the seasons ahead. We all know socks and jocks are a go to gift, but I could not go past the fun selection of socks at Trenery, plus they have a 3 for $39.95 deal. There are so many prints to choose from, but some of my favourites are the Cavoodle dogs, whiskey glasses, coffee cups, starry constellations and the golf motifs. These will definitely put a smile on dads face each morning while getting dressed.
I’ve found some great items for the fitness loving, sporty dads out there. From the runners to the golfers, I got you sorted. First up is Lulu Lemon, and they have pretty much got something for every sporty dad. But the Pace Breaker Shorts will suit so many different dads. Lightweight and a streamlined fit, these will take dad from running to the gym or just a casual weekend short. A pair of slides to wear to the beach or pool is a must as the weather starts to change. And at Nike the Calm Slides will be the comfiest slides he has tried. The lightweight responsive foam feels like you are walking on clouds. Offered in a range of colours, dad will thank you each time he puts these on. If you have the golf dad (like myself), then look no further than Rebel Sports Golf Men’s Essentials set. It features three must have items for the keen golfer in your life. An Under Armour Polo tee, Under Armour cap and Callaway 12 pack of golf balls. This is the ultimate game set match, you don’t even have to think, just wrap it up and you are set for Father’s Day.
Now, don’t forget to wrap your gifts and find the perfect Father’s Day card. You’ll need to head to The Gallery downstairs, opposite Coles. Finding the card is possibly my favourite part of the gift giving, I personally take it quite serious and always love the selection at The Gallery. I hope everyone enjoys Father’s Day, whether it’s your dad, stepdad, uncle, longtime friend or grandparent, they deserve some special recognition and thanks for being part of your life. Happy shopping and gift giving.
