Our Quarter Stylist, Corey Chandler, talks us through the top Spring Summer trends for 2025 so you can be ahead of the fashion game this season.
As the new season starts dropping in store and the weather finally makes a sunny turn, I’m very excited about what the new spring summer collections have to offer. I have gone through the fashion line up and Claremont Quarter to find the latest trends and what you should have your eye on for the spring summer season.
Swimwear
It might not be beach weather as such, but it’s never too early to start thinking about swimwear for the summer ahead. Heading to Camilla and the range of swimwear is all about making a statement. I love the Cat Worship Zip Front Paddle Suit. When it comes to sun safety, I’m here for it, and this long sleeve one piece will cover you up and look super chic while doing so. Featuring lavish leopard print, the Camilla signature shimmers from the hand placed crystals and a high neckline, this is perfect for the sun conscious beach goer. Or for something bold and bright head to Seafolly for all things swims. The Soundwave Bandeau bikini top and matching hipster bottoms come in tangerine or turquoise with a contrasting zig zag pattern. I Love the shape of the top, with the extra strap to tie under the bust. And the bottoms have great coverage, with soft edges for comfort. If you are after a great cover up, then the Corfu Crochet Maxi will be one to put on your summer wish list. In a soft cotton blend in ecru, this will go back with any colour worn underneath. It features a deep u shape neckline with a tie at the bust, side splits and a slim column shape. I can see this at pool side lunches, with a woven wide brim hat.
Denim
Denim is an all-year-round staple, but there are always fun new shapes with the new season. I love the Ryland Denim Blazer from Camilla and Marc. It’s the perfect style for a trans seasonal jacket, or to update your denim shirt into a blazer. It has removable shoulder pads which give a modern cut. It looks great styled as a top with the belt tied up or wear it loosely over your shoulders with a tee and wide leg linen pants. It is the perfect summer jacket. I have been spotting lots of longer length shorts, and the Seed A Line Short in cream denim will be a great cut on lots of different body shapes, and for those who like a little length. A classic 5 pocket styles, in a rigid denim these shorts are a wardrobe must have. Styled back with an oversized shirt or a fitted tank and chunky sandals, these will be a constant go-to piece. As for a denim dress, I think I have found one of the most flattering shapes and it’s at Morrison. The Amiko Denim Dress is a midi length, with collar and twisted v neck detail and a gathered waist panel to follow the shape of the body. I feel this is going to be a super flattering cut for many women and a great piece to have for years to come, as it can be dressed up or down. A great versatile dress.
Silk Sets
I love being comfortable as the weather starts to warm up, and nothing is comfier than Pajama dressing. I know the matching sets have been around for a while now, and they are not going anywhere, so now is the time to jump on board this trend if you haven’t already. The latest drop from Aje features the Planetary Silk Shirt and Drawcord Pant. Made from silk, in a green fern colour with a contrast white foliage print placed across the back of the shirt and up one side of a leg, it’s is the epitome of PJ dressing, with the flowing oversized shirt and wide leg pants it is understated and chic. If you are after a burst of colour, head to Morrison for the Pablo Cami and Pant. In a bold abstract print of azure, blue and white, this set screams summer. The fine straps and v neckline of the Cami float over the high waisted, wide leg paint to give an effortless look. Pair back with flat strappy sandals, and gold accessories and this look can take you from day to night. These sets are great to wear together or separately, a definite way to wear more pieces already in your wardrobe.
The Maxi Dress
As we start thinking about a new spring summer wardrobe, the maxi dress is still a must have. A great piece that can be transformed from day to night, or it throw on without having to think about pulling a look together. At Bec and Bridge the Leila Halter Dress features a halter neck rib drop waist bodice with a centre front gathered drawstring for flattering gathers. The skirt is made of cotton poplin with my favourite feature, in seam pockets and any dress with pockets gets my pick. Heading out to Elka Collective, and the Anara Floral Dress is a bold statement piece. In a cream sheer mesh, it features an oversized floral print, that wraps around the body. A super flattering shape, with side gathers this column style dress is one that will be worn all season long. If you are after a maxi with a sleeve the Aje Secret Border Print dress is a style that will be great in many shapes and sizes. The v neckline, elasticated feature waistband and A line skirt in a linen blend is a winning summer combination. The pretty green peony print is soft against the white linen.
Summer Events
When the nights start getting longer and warmer, finally our calendars start filling up with summer events. So, it’s time to start planning your looks. At Sass and Bide the Kyoto Fringe Dress is an elegant and sculptural statement dress. This midi dress in a stunning mint green, features a one shoulder design with fringe that sweeps across the bust from the twisted shoulder strap. Pair with a metallic heel and sleek, swept back hair for a contemporary look. If you are after something short yet bold, head to Rebecca Vallance for the Layana Mini Dress in raspberry. Crafted in a bonded crepe the fitted bodice is adorned with large sequined appliqued flowers. The one shoulder detail evolves into a dramatic capped sleeve. You will turn heads in this stunning pink mini. I love a floral moment and at Manning Cartell the Marigold Floral Dress is an elegant choice. The ankle skimming gown exudes timeless charm, with shades of nude and bronze in an understated floral. The high neckline has an asymmetric gold feature on one side, the bodice follows the shape of the body into a floaty skirt. I can see this being a popular pick for wedding season.
Finishing Touches
The finishing touches for any look always include shoes, a bag and jewellery. At Oroton I have fallen in love with the Gretel Mini Top Handle in cream. The perfect not too small mini size with a luxe bamboo handle and an adjustable cross body strap. This will be an all-rounder bag for the spring summer. Oroton jewellery selection is always so chic, and I can’t go past the Kylo Hoops, for that pop of gold. Timeless design meets sophistication with these 18K gold plated hoops and will elevate any look. Make sure to book in a pedicure to start your summer sandal shopping and head to Viktoria & Woods for the Mason Thong. Crafted from Ivory leather and a contrasting black wedge sole with a gold insignia logo for a touch of luxury. These are also available in all black and are the perfect slide for every day, effortless style. If you haven’t tried the ballet trend, well it’s still going strong this spring summer. Camilla and Marc’s take on the this is the Christine Braided Flat. In a two-tone black and natural open weave braid on a soft leather sole. They are stylish yet relaxed, and a great summer flat that will go with many summer looks.
