Our Quarter Stylist, Corey Chandler, talks us through the top Spring Summer trends for 2025 so you can be ahead of the fashion game this season.
We are still very much in the thick of summer, and I’m personally looking forward to this heat sticking around for the next few months. I’m sure your summer wardrobes have had a lot of rinse and repeat, so maybe you’re in need of a few extra pieces to get you through to the end. I have checked out the latest drops at Claremont Quarter and have found a few stand out trends.
I have spotted a trend towards sheer pieces, and layering. Whether it’s lace, mesh, netting or crochet, these pieces are fun and bold. At the beautiful new Dissh store, I love the Loula Lace pant. Available in black or white, the silhouette is relaxed and wide, in a mid-weight soft lace. They will look great with an oversized silk shirt and heels or make them more casual with a bright tee and sneakers. A visit to Elka Collective and I fell in love with the Elidi Skirt. A layered design with a mini length skirt, topped with ankle length organza. Wear a simple black tank and slides for an easy summer look or take it to night with an oversized blazer and knee high boots. This skirt will easily transfer into your winter wardrobe too. At Viktoria & Woods the Protection Top caught my eye with its textured tule stripes. Its feminine silhouette with a boat neckline, slips over the body with effortless elegance. It also comes with a matching mini skirt, which is fully lined and makes for a fresh head to toe look.
Some of the summer shirting I have seen are divine, and I can’t decide what I want myself. At Aje the Cloud Embroidered Top in ivory is a beautiful sleeves shirt, with tie front detail. Made in 100% linen, the scalloping trim is feminine, and the soft broderie anglaise makes this a very pretty shirt. Heading to Morrison and I love the Alpheus embroidered Shirt. Made from a mid-weight linen, the resort collar and short sleeves give this shirt a classic feel. But it’s the divine contrast embroidery of fish and shells, in a deep blue that makes it so fun. I can see it worn back with wide, white linen pants or pale blue jeans. Or for something to take you to cocktails, the Chantilly Lace short sleeve shirt at Cue will do the trick. In a dark olive green, it is crafted in a soft floral lace, with short sleeves and collared neckline. A slightly relaxed shape, it is covered enough to just wear a black bralette underneath without feeling too sheer. This shirt will look great with matching shorts or tucked into a wide black pair of trousers with heels. I love lace, and it will be in your wardrobe season after season.
The “Kimono” style dress has come in and out if fashion, but it is very much back this summer. A versatile piece that looks great on all sizes, as the wrap around style is very flattering. At Camilla the Faith, Luck & Justice Short Kimono Wrap is styled over matching palazzo pants for a chic summer vacation look. The white silk twill allows the bright Portuguese folklore floral print to really pop. It is fun, bright and I love the matching pants to get a full look. If you are after something a little demurer, the Marina Robe at Camilla and Marc has you covered. A classic black cotton wraps with tonal eyelet embroidered trim, this piece is effortless style wrapped up in one summery LBD. Or heading back to some more florals, the Oroton Greenhouse Floral Robe is an elegant piece made from heavy weight linen with a sweet, soft botanical print. It can be styled back with the matching shorts, or keep it as a chic summer dress. I love all three dresses, the versatility from pool, to lunch or wear them over pants/shorts for an elegant, layered look.
Shirt dresses have been spotted throughout these latest summer drops, and I feel the shirt dress doesn’t get enough credit. So, let’s persuade you to try on one of these very versatile and flattering dresses. At Country Road the Fit and Flare midi dress is available in black or a stunning royal blue. The cotton poplin makes for a lightweight summer dress, plus it has an elbow length sleeve, v neckline and fitted waist which is accentuated with a matching belt. Ladies, this dress is a winner! If you like bold prints, then Morrison has the Freya Maxi Shirt Dress. Made in a textured linen, the khaki, blush and ecru print are bold yet tonal and will take you from summer to winter. I love the ¾ paneled sleeve, full button fronts with sweet gold buttons, and a full swing skirt. The neat fit through the waist is again highlighted with a matching belt. This dress could become your new favorite with ease. And at Flannel I found the Eliza Navy Silk Habotai Maxi Shirt Dress. The soft silk falls from the collared neckline to a floaty shirt dress. Pintuck patch pockets feature on the front, with a self-tie belt to bring in the waist. A chic maxi dress that will look great with chunky sandals and gold accessories.
Floral prints are everywhere, and I have picked my faves. The Nude Lucy Alba Cupro shirt and pants set is the perfect black and white floral. The shirt is an oversized style, with short sleeves and a traditional collar and the pants are a wide leg with elasticated waistband. Together it’s comfy yet chic, then I love them worn separately with other wardrobe staples. Over at the Rebecca valance store, the florals were abundant. But I fell in love with the Orchid Blues Blouse. The pussy bow neckline and blouson sleeves, make this a classic. But the cobalt blue floral on the white soft linen, really made this a standout piece. Worn tucked into a dark denim, with tan heels make for an effortless look. Or go all out and try it with the matching maxi skirt for a glamourous moment. And speaking of glamorous, the Scattered Floral Strapless dress at Manning Cartel ticks that box. The cascading blooms on a soft pink backdrop are beautiful. And the drape of this midi dress and the curve of the bodice makes this a very special dress. Anyone attending a wedding soon?
Now to finish off these looks with some new accessories. Head to Baily Nelson and find the limited-edition MYRA X Bailey Nelson collab. I love the Twenty-Nine Sunglasses. The 90s inspired slimline design features narrow oval lenses, wide arms and subtle branding. Also available in 3 colours, but I can’t go past classic black. Now for a new bag, and Oroton has the Breeze Texture Baguette in dark slate. I love the 90s grey, but the extra-long shoulder straps on the chic baguette shape, make this a contemporary and sophisticated choice. Ballet flats are everywhere, but the Cameron Triple Strap flats at Seed, are too cute. Available in black or cream patent leather, they are comfortable and stylish. I love the round toe and gold hardware. Or if you a more of a sneaker girl, then look no further than Stylerunner and check out the range of Salomon XT-6. These sneakers are fast becoming the latest “it” style. There are a huge range of colours, but you better get your hands on these fast. These will definitely take you from your active wear at the gym to wide leg jeans at lunch. A new chunky sneaker to add to your shoe line up.
