ECCO strives every day to minimize its impact on the environment. The materials we use are carefully and responsibly sources from farms in Europe and the USA that comply with intentionally accepted animal welfare standards.
Plus, many of these one-off pieces feature DriTan Leather. DriTan, by ECCO Leather, refers to a step in the tanning process that uses the moisture already present in the hides. The resulting leather is indistinguishable from traditionally tanned leather in terms of quality, characteristics, stability, and lead time. Besides saving huge amounts of water, the technology also considerably reduces the amount of chemicals used and lowers wastewater production compared to standard tanning methods.
