Spring Summer Trends | Quarter Stylists

Our Quarter Stylist, Corey Chandler, talks us through the top Spring Summer trends for 2024 so you can be ahead of the fashion game this season.

Finally we are emerging from the winter, as the days start getting warmer and longer. Spring is certainly in the air and it’s time to start looking at your wardrobe and planning for the warmer weather.

I have gone through the stores at Claremont Quarter and found some Spring Summer trends to get you started.

Summer Denim

Denim Jeans are a wardrobe staple year round. But I always love to see the new season interpretations of this staple.

The Country Road Short sleeve denim shirt is an easy and comfortable wear. With its relaxed fit, it features a dropped shoulder and it’s in a traditional pale denim colour. The Tencel blend gives it a beautiful drape and soft feel and will be perfect as a light layering piece.

For something more rigid and “jacket” shaped the Seed Denim Overshirt has a modern and boxy cut. I really love the Magnolia colour, a soft sand hue. It features chest pockets, a concealed button placket, and has a longline cut finishing in a dipped hem. The colour alone will make it a super versatile piece, either wear it as a jacket or button it up and roll the sleeves for a modern spin.

When it comes to jeans Sass and Bide have the best collection. The Roxy Jean pairs classic blue denim with gunmetal silver embellishment. They have wow factor and the perfect way to get a little glam in a denim piece. The wider leg is right on trend and the embellished flowers are subtle yet fun. Make them an everyday wear with chunky slides and a white tee or slip on a pair of heels for cocktails.

I love a denim dress moment and Aje have the perfect shape. The May Denim Midi Dress features a corset-style bodice and a full, flowing skirt. This elegant denim dress will carry you from day to night. I love the gold hardware which really pops on the dark indigo. This dress will be great on all shapes, and is a true spring summer piece to add to your new wardrobe.

Barbie

The world was in a pink paint shortage due to the Barbie movie and the fashion was hit with a pink frenzy and I still spy quite a bit of pink through the collections.

The fun Frosting mesh dress from Gorman is a perfect example of Barbie Pink. The contrast polka dot flocked mesh combines sheerness and texture. With a rounded neckline, drop shoulders, and full-length balloon sleeves this knee length dress is a great shape for all body types and ages. From casual gatherings to special events, this dress is perfect for all occasions.

The Camilla and Marc Sinclar Lace Dress in magenta pink is a super chic maxi dress for a formal event. It features a beautiful lace outer in a vibrant pink hue, internal corset which allows the fabric to enhance the feminine curves. A stunning and romantic silhouette. For a hint of pint add some seperates to your wardrobe.

I love the Cue Drape detail top in Candy pink. A beautiful glossy textured Italian fabric gives an almost metallic look. The exaggerated asymmetric drape detail, floats down the side of the body for a bit of drama. This top will look great over wide leg denim for a fun night out.

Or for something classic the Viktoria & Woods Verse pant in bubble gum pink is an easy wear. Crafted from their signature sand washed cupro blend, these pants are tailored with a straight leg. A great Spring Summer addition, these pants will be a great piece to wear back with tops already in your wardrobe, from a simple tee to oversized cotton button down shirts.

Matchy Matchy

The matching sets are still a huge trend going forward this spring summer. Go bold and printed or keep it subtle with head-to-toe block colour. This trend is perfect for ladies of all ages and a great way to look really “put together” effortlessly.

Flannel has a beautiful new store in the centre and I love the Tallulah shorts and shirt. The rust and ecru geometric print is bold and earthy. Each piece is in a lightweight cotton. The shirt is a loose silhouette, wide short sleeves and button front. Will look great loose or tucked in. The shorts are a wide relaxed shape with elastic waistband. You will be so comfy and cool.

I’m loving this denim look Set from Bec & Bridge. The Nola Asymmetric top with the Dustin trousers are young and fun. The pants are made from 100% silk, but have a denim print featuring all the details a pair of jeans would have with the contrast stitching. The soft mesh top is fitted with one shoulder strap, slightly cropped and a draped side.

And for an elevated and chic set I can’t go past the Manning Cartel Abstract Gardenia Blouse & Trouser. As we start thinking about event dressing this is such a great way to go. The Abstract Gardenia Blouse is the perfect top to take you from day to night. This blouse can be worn as a wrap blouse, tied or worn out loose for an effortless day look. It features a flattering  v-neckline and gold tone button details. Pair with the matching Abstract Gardenia Pant, the bold black & white  print with muted tones of dusty pink and lime are fresh and fun. The pants have a relaxed fit with an elasticised waist and wide leg. Bring on spring time parties.

Accessories

When it comes to accessories, whether it be shoes, bags or jewellery it is the most affordable way to update your wardrobe and inject a bit of new season into it. The chunky sandal isn’t going anywhere, so my pick is the Country Road Harlow Slide. It is available in black, sand or tan which are the perfect staple colours for every spring summer wardrobe. Made from smooth leather, this slide features a rounded toe shape, an oversized X strap and a moulded footbed lined in leather. You will be comfy and on trend in these, plus it’s a slight platform for these who are after a little extra height. But if you are after something more refined the Seed Addison Flat is perfect. With an elegant, strappy look, these sandals are a must-have style. They are crafted 100% from leather and come in the perfect neutral tones of light gold or soft caramel. A metallic sandal is a must in every wardrobe.

And my favourite bag I’ve seen is from Oroton. The Margot tiny bucket bag in clotted cream, it’s the perfect shade of summer white to compliment every look, and it’s not that tiny. It would take you from day to night, which makes it a great investment. Crafted from high-quality pebble leather, its top zip closure ensures your belongings stay secure and the must have skinny cross body strap. It is lightweight and easy to carry.

I hope I have gotten you inspired to start going through your wardrobe at home, finding some gaps that need filling or an update or you just want to treat yourself to something new for the Spring Summer season ahead.
